Nebistar contains Nebivolol, a β1 receptor blocker that enhances nitric oxide's vasodilatory effects, used in treating hypertension and left ventricular failure. It is particularly cardioselective in specific conditions, which aids in lowering blood pressure, allowing the heart to pump more effectively, and decreasing the heart's workload.
This medication is available in tablet form to be taken orally, with or without food, once daily. For adults with hypertension, the recommended initial dose is 5 mg once daily, either alone or alongside other medications. The dosage may be increased to a maximum of 40 mg once daily if necessary. In the case of heart failure, start with 1.25 mg once daily and consider doubling the dose every 1-2 weeks up to a maximum of 10 mg once daily. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as you remember. If it's nearly time for your next dose, skip the missed one and return to your usual schedule. Avoid taking two doses at once or extra doses. Do not alter the dose or discontinue this medication without consulting a doctor.
